It only took me 6 months… but I’m finally getting around to posting some before and after’s! Before you start scrolling, know all photos are iphone photos (hence the poor image quality) Also, all BEFORE photos were how the house looked when we came to first view it or the day we moved in! (not our stuff) we had a lot of cleaning up/work to do, but got right to it the evening we closed on the house! The before/after photos are less than 1 month apart. We closed on the house February 22nd, and were moved in by March 15th. We have A LOT to do yet, but it’s getting there!!
Before of living room…
We started ripping carpet out the evening we closed! Connor was a great helper!
That same evening and the next day my whole family showed up to help. They are seriously THE BEST
No more carpet!
New floors started going in! Thanks to Foltz Country Carpets in Port Royal!
AND AFTER!!
Dining room before…
Mid way…
And after!
This room was the biggest transformation. Previously a bedroom, transforming it into my office. Dylan and his Dad completely gutted the entire room, took out the closet and put up drywall.
And WAH-LAH! A beautiful office 🙂
Trim needs some paint yet, haha!
Staircase/foyer before
Carpet removal..
And I can’t say this enough, thank God for Aunt Ann !!
And after!
The kitchen before. We really loved the kitchen minus a few minor things. Replaced the plum purple walls with white.. replaced appliances, got rid of the wallpaper and that’s about it.
My Gram is the best. Wall paper is seriously the WORST.
Couldn’t have done this all so quick without my uncle Dwayne either!! Always there when I need him 🙂
We completely removed the door between the kitchen and dining room to give it a more open feel. Connor hard at work!
And again, what would I do without my aunt Ann. Who literally works all day long and drove an hour up here multiple times to help!! She’s the real MVP. Love you, Auntie!
Kitchen after 🙂
Small bathroom off of the kitchen. Just cleaned up but no changes yet.. this is a future project.
Before.
After.
And onto upstairs..
This is the master bedroom BEFORE.
My awesome Uncle Jeff got straight to work removing carpet the evening we closed on the house. So thankful for him!!
Connor & Dylan helping with carpet removal and painting over the next few days
Of course not without many snack breaks…
A little white paint should do the trick…
Carpet going in!
And master bedroom AFTER!
Connor’s room before…
And after! This was the evening we started moving in furniture and clearly he was exhausted. Lol…
3rd bedroom upstairs. And as much as I loved the 1980’s green carpet…..
It had to go. (This room is currently our puppy’s bedroom though he doesn’t use it at all) lol.
Upstairs bathroom. Not a lot of changes here. This is also a future project.
BEFORE.
After.
We have a finished basement. This is one side of it. The before photo and what it currently looks like. We plan to renovate and turn this into a bar/racing room/man cave for Dylan. This is a project on our to-do list for this winter.
Pool area..
Backyard.. (we plan to fence in as the main road is right there)

Some of our first memories in the new house to far…
We welcomed this little guy into our family! (Meet Hoosier)
Who now looks like this! Seriously, where did my puppy go?!
Connor and Hoosier were instantly best buds.
Dylan loved him too although he didn’t want to admit it at first 😉
Connor finished 2nd grade.. #lastdayofschoolpic
Hoosier was ready for him to get home and summer to start.
…and Connor started third grade. #firstdayofschoolpic #anotherracingshirt LOL
First baseball game in the new house! Connor was thrilled to be able to have his friends over after practice/games to swim!!
Our pool was definitely put to use! #firstpoolparty
First of many boys nights for Connor..
Connor’s 1st Memorial Day Weekend here got the best of him… ha!
Connor turned 8! First birthday party at the new house 🙂
It’s crazy to think of all the memories that will be made here in our new home! We are so grateful we found such a perfect house. Hope you liked the before & after’s! I’ll do another blog down the road with more improvements! 🙂
